Previously a school and a field study centre which served the locality, it has now been upgraded to provide useful bunkhouse-style accommodation for people wishing to explore this beautiful and wild area. |
Fell End consists of two 18th century buildings; the Schoolhouse and Greenslack. They have been upgraded to provide comfortable bunk-house accommodation for people wishing to explore this beautiful area, overlooking the unspoilt splendour of the Howgill Fells. Perfect for mixed groups or families. Walking, cycling, canoeing, caving nearby and the Lake District is only 20 miles away.
The Schoolhouse (white building) sleeps up to 8 people
in bunks in the central communal area, plus an extra bed in an adjoining
room. The bathroom consists of two toilets, one electric shower and 4 wash
basins. Greenslack provides a further 2 bunks and 1 single bed plus a bathroom
designed for people with mobility problems. This building has no cooking
facilities so cannot be booked separately. All beds have a covered mattress,
pillow & pillow case. The living room has a beautiful multi-fuel-stove,
which also heats the radiators. There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer
and cooker. Entry is by a touch lock system. Dogs allowed under strict supervision.
